In the premises of the Rectorate of the University of Tetova, organized by the Faculty of Pedagogy, was conducted the awareness-raising activity “Our voice wall against violence” – (“Muri i zërit tonë kundër dhunës”). This activity is part of the project “Promoting safe school environments”, in which students, teachers, and committed students participated in creating a safer, fairer, and more inclusive school environment.

The students of the Faculty of Pedagogy, who have attended basic and advanced training in the field of violence and discrimination prevention in schools, shared their knowledge with the participants and emphasized the importance of awareness and active response to any form of violence in school environments.

Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi, emphasized that this activity is part of ongoing initiatives for civic education and the building of a culture of coexistence in schools. “This time, the students have prepared the project “Our voice wall against violence”, which also involved primary school students. The project is more symbolic than competitive – with the aim of raising a voice against violence and raising public awareness that violence, in any form, is unacceptable in our environments, especially in schools”, stated Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi.

The activity was carried out in an interactive and inclusive manner. Students were encouraged to express their feelings and thoughts through various creative forms such as drawings, essays, messages, and personal stories. This approach created a safe space for communication, demonstrating that the voices of young people are essential for a school environment free of prejudice.

This student project was highly valued by the academic staff of the Faculty of Pedagogy as a successful example of active student involvement in issues that directly impact the well-being and safety of the school community.

The activity was supported by the Pestaloci Foundation and implemented in partnership with the Macedonian Civic Education Center, as well as other partners engaged in the fields of education and human rights.
